Faith in Action

FAITH IN ACTION

At St. Mary’s we believe that our faith in Jesus compels us to action. We follow the principles of Catholic Social Teaching which help guide our actions.

The pupils of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School are encouraged and supported to love our global neighbours, fight for justice and peace, look after the world we live in and give to the poor. Pope Francis says we should work for the good of all people and at St. Mary’s, we believe we are doing just that.

Our Faith In Action group consists of two Faith In Action Ambassadors from each KS2 class. These children have been chosen by their peers to take a leading role in developing the Catholic Life of our school. They work closely with Mrs Sayers throughout the year. So far this year, they have helped update the Prayer & Liturgy areas around school, organised five Lenten fundraisers, written to local businesses for raffle prizes and helped deliver a Live Simply assembly to the whole school.
